Kihuen will not run for re-election

First-term Rep. Ruben Kihuen, accused by two women of sexual harassment,  sent out an email moments ago announcing he will not seek re-election next year.

Though he denied the allegations, he is quoted as saying “the allegations that have surfaced would be a distraction from a fair and thorough discussion of the issues in a reelection campaign. Therefore, it is in the best interests of my family and my constituents to complete my term in Congress and not seek reelection.”

He also said he will fully cooperate with a House Ethics Committee that he said will clear his name.

“Due process and the presumption of innocence are bedrock legal principles which have guided our nation for centuries, and they should not be lost to unsubstantiated hearsay and innuendo,” the email quotes Kihuen as saying.

From the incredibly unlikely scenario department:
Investigation finds nothing and pronounces him innocent….bet me he decides to run again?
