For lack of a copyeditor a bear was killed

This AP story is all over the internet today:

“LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Nevada man is expected to return to court in Las Vegas next week in a grizzly 2011 murder case after the state Supreme Court upheld a lower court’s ruling that his earlier guilty plea was illegal.”

A murder can be grisly or horrifying, but a grizzly is a type of brown bear.

This is just sad, totally sad.
What a way to disrespect the memory of that young girl.
    |Hopefully, he will be declared mentally fit and we put the states death penalty to good use.

Perhaps the position of copy editor has been eliminated nationally?

Sadly, these days, it seems that the perpetrator of a grisly and vicious killing of a young girl will probably get gentler treatment and less notoriety than someone who actually killed a bear.

I love it! Matthew “I’m not Matt” the RJ copy editors would have nightmares.

  4. John G Edwards says:

Yeah, I know. I should have run this comment past Matthew the Copyeditor, but the guy waiting behind me at the pump gas didn’t understand why I was taking so long to drive away from the gas pump.
