How do you blackmail someone who brags about their peccadilloes?

So, according to that much-maligned 35-page opposition research posted online by BuzzFeed, Russian intelligence agents attempted to gather “kompromat” (compromising material) on both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton by eavesdropping and spying on both of them during travels to Russia and elsewhere.

While Russians certainly are and were capable of attempting to find material that could be used to blackmail Trump and Clinton, one must wonder about the utility of any such endeavor, since neither has ever been embarrassed about anything they have ever done or said — from bimbo eruptions to boasts about crotch grabbing.

Blackmail would be futile.

He should thank BuzFeed and CNN and every other press outlet that saw fit to bring out this prior to him taking office. That’s why it’s surfacing, I suspect. Intelligence community trying to save him from himself. All he has is whining about the media. Pathetic and no sign of any improvement coming. The conservative media ought to be slamming him.

And the whole thing was fabricated by someone over on Reddit or 4Chan (didn’t care so already forgot). But he said the media didn’t twig to it being fake right off, so he just kept making it bigger.

    Good point

    It wasn’t 4Chan or Reddit.
It was anti Trump Republicans at first then it was Democrats. Both employed Chris Steele to dig up dirt on Trump they could use in a mudslinging campaign. The whole “report” is chock full of spelling and grammar errors along with totally unsubstantiated claims.
Could even be worse if some of the allegations made in this article are true. CIA trying to take control of the USA?

“THERE IS A REAL DANGER here that this maneuver can harshly backfire, to the great benefit of Trump and to the great detriment of those who want to oppose him. If any of the significant claims in this “dossier” turn out to be provably false — such as Cohen’s trip to Prague — many people will conclude, with Trump’s encouragement, that large media outlets (CNN and BuzzFeed) and anti-Trump factions inside the government (CIA) are deploying “Fake News” to destroy him. In the eyes of many people, that will forever discredit — render impotent — future journalistic exposés that are based on actual, corroborated wrongdoing.
Beyond that, the threat posed by submitting ourselves to the CIA and empowering it to reign supreme outside of the democratic process is — as Eisenhower warned — an even more severe danger. The threat of being ruled by unaccountable and unelected entities is self-evident and grave. That’s especially true when the entity behind which so many are rallying is one with a long and deliberate history of lying, propaganda, war crimes, torture, and the worst atrocities imaginable.
Most important of all, the legitimate and effective tactics for opposing Trump are being utterly drowned by these irrational, desperate, ad hoc crusades that have no cogent strategy and make his opponents appear increasingly devoid of reason and gravity. Right now, Trump’s opponents are behaving as media critic Adam Johnson described: as ideological jelly fish, floating around aimlessly and lost, desperately latching on to whatever barge randomly passes by.

There are solutions to Trump. They involve reasoned strategizing and patient focus on issues people actually care about. Whatever those solutions are, venerating the intelligence community, begging for its intervention, and equating their dark and dirty assertions as Truth are most certainly not among them. Doing that cannot possibly achieve any good, and is already doing much harm.”

The whole article is relevant, I took from some of the conclusions. Ask yourselves, do you really want our “Intelligence Community” to be the defacto rulers of our country?

Tons of credible fact based opinion in this Facebook thread.
It starts with the article I posted just a bit ago.

I loved the timing of the article. At least we did not have to hear ad nauseum how great Obama has been and how much he will be missed (at least by the left and the pundits.
