Remember what this day means and act accordingly

Signing the Declaration

On this day, for those who really do not want socialized medicine or to have to press 1 tospeak English or to pay higher power bills to satisfy someone’s fantasy about global warming or comply with burdensome regulations or to fight a bureaucracy for your water rights or to fight a bureaucracy that has made your land worthless by diverting water from it or to be told what kind of food your school may serve or to have millions of dollars flow to Washington while your state gets pennies in return or to be spied on by your own government or to have someone keeping track of how many guns you have or to have to rely on news media that have become little more than pawns of the government or to live under laws in which some classes are more equal than others or to pay your “public servants” far more than you make or to live in a society in which the vote of the people is ignored or to have your government give your tax money to a company that will competeagainst your employer or to have judgeships go the highest bidder, we offer these words:

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.”

Revolutions can take place at the ballot box, when, “He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.”
