Local newspaper that dropped AP misses stories

I knew there would be many times when the Las Vegas newspaper would be missing stories because it dropped its membership in The Associated Press.

This week there was another. While other papers in the state carried the AP story about a federal judge throwing out a lawsuit by Nevada counties seeking to change the way the Bureau of Land Management handles wild horses, the Las Vegas paper ignored it, because their own reporters were busy with the Legislature and the story was not carried by the Washington Post or Bloomberg or CNN or Reuters.

All the news that’s fit to print, is the motto of The New York Times. Not so much for the local paper.
