Brian Greenspun today grabs the banner spot of his newspaper insert, the Las Vegas Sun, and uses it to support Obama’s infringement on the Second Amendement.
He writes:
“The Second Amendment, for whatever purpose our Founding Fathers saw fit, cannot ever be allowed to be the shield behind which cowards, crazy people and others just hell-bent on finding government conspiracies can hide. Not when our children are dying at their desks. …
“I don’t know if what President Obama has proposed regarding assault weapons, ammunition clips, gun show loop holes, registration of weapons, mental health and school security is enough or too much to help. What I do know is that it is a holistic approach that could very well work. At least to reduce the great majority of massacres that have become a part of our everyday lives — and deaths.”
This is the same ancestor worshiping son whose father, Hank, was convicted of gun running for purchasing artillery, machine-guns, rifles and airplane engines for a Jewish paramilitary organization.

Your point?
Posting speaks for itself.

Shipping artillery is protected by the Second Amendment?
Like Harry Reid said to the reporter: “It was clear for those of us who understand English.”

I’d add that reading with understanding is a good thing, the post states the senior Greenspun was convicted which means whatever jurisdiction convicted him used their relevant law, one no doubt promulgated and established by competent authority. His conviction aside, I don’t condemn Hank Greenspun for trying to help Israelis, I imagine Brian Greenspun can afford to support Israel and its endeavors but it’s like he doesn’t want to get his hands dirty, his old man was many things but wasn’t the kind to coast or wax melancholic,
Steven Brooks is a good example of Democrat support for gun control.
Why was it wrong to run guns to Israel, but OK to run guns into Mexico?
Your question answers itself, Milty.

Questions and questions, duplicity on duplicity, we supplied Afghans with weapons when they were fighting off the Russians, some of those same weapons are now used against our military and only our federal government knows whether the Russians and others are supporting the Afghans against us but it sure isn’t a concern for the media. I wrote federal government, I think it’s time we shortened federal to feral when speaking of government at that level, Speaking of government, it’s almost impossible to avoid news on the inauguration, better called anointment, but which of the two oath takings is the meaningful one? And why two bibles on the public anointment, is that some kind of signal to insiders on world politics or religions?
Yeah. It’s a coded signal to the Illuminati.
C’mon, Nyp, at least give us all credit for not asking why he’s not taking the oath on the Koran.
I’m sure there are plenty of people who would take the oath on “Atlas Shrugged,” the bible of unbridled greed in America.
Depends on how you define greed.
“I have never understood why it is ‘greed’ to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else’s money.” — Thomas Sowell
“oath on the Koran”
Appropriate quote from Sowell, Milty. I was about to write something similar, but then I saw your comment. Sowell’s words will more than suffice.

With Obama it’s left to him and those that placed him to decide how he executes the office of the president and how he preserves, protects, and defends the Constitution, “whether” fits in there and we will find that out very soon. For the next several days the media will portray him as the most wonderful and perfect individual to ever take on the nation’s leadership, talking heads Bob Schieffer and Scott Pelley, will fall into each others arms in elation, Chris Matthews will be in rapture from the tingle. Joe Biden will proclaim he’s up next, Hillary Clinton will tell him, “Not so fast”. The debt limit will go up quarterly, John Boehner will go into seclusion to figure whose behind he should kiss in 2016, Nancy Pelosi will tell him, “Not so fast”. Nyp will say that Obama did really well for a street hustler from Chicago.
I have never understood why it is ‘greed’ to want to keep the money you have earned but not greed to want to take somebody else’s money.” — Blame Dickens. The reader is led to believe that Scrooge was greedy, but all he was doing was hanging on to his money. Cratchett was the employee that wanted all sorts of breaks. Why, he wanted to burn more coal heat the place and he even wanted the day off on Christmas.
At least Mr. Scrooge didn’t have to pay three times as much to heat his office because the government had this stupid requirement to heat his office with solar instead of coal.
“Bob Cratchit owned a home. The Christmas feast that the Cratchits had was quite expensive. They had a bowl full of oranges, which were the most expensive imported fruit in London in the winter 1843. And Bob Cratchit had enough money to have 15 rounds of gin punch, and enough goose to feed the entire large family,”
“Ebenezer Scrooge, on the other hand, lived in a run down flat in a run down neighborhood, and, as little coal as Bob Cratchit had for his fire at the office, Scrooge had less.”
I love reality.

Wait till you see the Benson cartoon in today’s R-J, Vernon.
I saw it, the sculpture would be funded by the feral government but California, diversity central, would want it there, to include small caricatures at the base of Boxer, Feinstein, and Pelosi, as his maids in waiting. Here in Nevada we could sculpt Harry Reid’s face on Yucca Mountain, the aborted tunnel could be the mouth so all they would have to sculpt is the nose and the eyes. They could keep the rails for tours but I don’t know whether it would be advertised as a fright trip or a tunnel of love.
